Prescription Refills are written according to established medical guidelines and for a particular treatment regimen at the time of the medical encounter. Refills are given for all prescriptions and the amount given is in direct relation to when you need to return for reevaluation. The return visit for additional refills also allows the clinician to make an assessment of the effectiveness as well the appropriateness of the treatment. Adjustments and changes are sometimes made according to what is noted during the followup visit.

Whenever possible, refill requests are called in to pharmacies the same day requests are received. Please request for refills at the time of your visit and make sure you know your insurance plan’s prescription policy.

We advice every one of our clients to call at least 3 days prior to running out of his/her medications.

Clients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid problems, depression and hypertension need to be evaluated every 3 to 6 months before medication refills are renewed.

Your medication will not be renewed without a documented office evaluation and assessment.

Prescriptions for controlled substance medications such as ADHD and certain pain medications require a written prescription during the office visit.

PLEASE NOTE: PRESCRIPTIONS FOR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES CANNOT BE FAXED OR CALLED IN TO ANY PHARMRCY. It is the law!!!

All first time requests for any medication at all will be honored only after a complete physical exam.
